What to do in Shanghai when it’s rainy?

Wednesday, March 15, 2017 - 11:07

If the weekend was any indication, is seems the rain is here. Although it might feel like it would just be the best to curl up at home with a good book and some tea, Shanghai has a whole heap of fun things you can do even when the weather is miserable! Find some of them listed below.

Visit the Museum of Contemporary Art

The Museum of Contemporary Art Shanghai (MOCA Shanghai) is the first non-profit, independently-operated contemporary art institution in Shanghai, and shows a wide range of Chinese contemporary artwork alongside international exhibitions, and its total floor area of 4,000 square meters offers a great place to escape the rain.

Address: 231 Nanjing Xi Lu

Hop around a trampoline park

Who said trampolines are only for little kids? What a better way to spend a rainy day than getting a fun workout whilst jumping around one of the trampoline parks in Shanghai.  The park at Jump 360 stretches out over 5,550sqm and holds a few dozen trampolines, foam pits and challenging obstacle courses.

Address: 1408 Jidi Lu, near Jizhan Lu | 258 Changjiang Lu, near Jungong Lu

Visit a 3D Museum

The 3D Fantastic House will allow you to jump into the pictures of art yourself. Bring along a camera (or just your smartphone) to get some memorable photos of yourself hanging out with a painted Napoleon or running away from a monsterous Snake.

Address: B2/F, 531 Zhongshan Dong Er Lu, near Longtan Lu

Try escape!

Where the trampoline park might leave you with sore muscles, room escape will allow you to train your brain! Go to Mr X for a challenge in which you and your group of friends will be locked in a room and given clues to figure out a way out of the room before the time runs out!

Address: Bldg 1, 550 Jumen Lu, near Quxi Lu
